New York City is prepared to house asylum-seekers in as many as 20 schools with free-standing gyms, Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday. The attorney representing the city in the case did not issue a comment outside court, nor did an attorney for the Crossroads Hotel and the Ramada Inn in Newburgh, which haven been housing migrants bused from NYC. “This is one of the last places we want to look at,” Adams said. "None of us are comfortable with having to take these drastic steps. But I could not have been more clear for the last few months of what we are facing.
