The fried rice has a rich salty and savory flavor bordering on umami territory. The shrimp are plump and delicious, and everything is properly seasoned with a medley of garlic, chili, teriyaki, and who knows what else. I have no issue whatsoever with Harmonious and Disney Enchantment glowing away forever in 2023, but this had better stick around. It’s far and away the best appetizer at Skipper Canteen–maybe all of Magic Kingdom. Highly recommended, and ordering this technically might count as community service, since popularity makes it more likely to stick around.
WE KNOW DISNEY.
According to Disney, this "new adventure" will stay true to the experience that guests know and love, but with more humor, wildlife and "skipper heart". Like the Splash Mountain reimagining, which was announced last year, it looks like Disney is taking another opportunity to update old attractions to better reflect the diversity of the modern world. Another fun aspect is that your server will actually be a Jungle Cruise Skipper! So, in addition to serving up “World Famous Jungle Cuisine,” you’ll probably also get served some JOKES. We’ve had some just NOT breaking character and letting the dad-jokes rip the entire meal (love it!) and other times that the “Skipperiness” is barely detectable.

The dish was over-seasoned and the natural gamey flavor of the lamb was muted; that might’ve been a plus for many, but not for me. This was really good, and a nice refreshing contrast to the Veranda Fried Rice. Almost every ingredient here tasted fresh and light, save for the pork. The meat was savory and flavorful, balancing out the dish and giving it a robust quality. I’m pretty sure this has been around for several years–perhaps since Skipper Canteen opened.
Disney Celebrates the Chinese New Year in Shanghai and Hong Kong
The Jungle Cruise is an iconic attraction that has survived the test of time. Opening with Disneyland in 1955 it’s been operating for over 66 years. It has been so successful that the ride has been replicated to multiple Disney parks. Some fans may not mind one of their favorite Walt Disney World restaurants flying a little under the radar and always being able to score a last-minute ADR. That’s not my position, as that makes menu changes or complete concept overhauls all the more likely. It’s a great change-of-pace restaurant in Magic Kingdom, one of the rare spots where you won’t feel rushed or overwhelmed, and can explore or just sit back and enjoy the amusing ride.
The Wildest Theme Park Billboards In Orlando and Beyond!
This excludes any beverages, taxes, gratuities (tips), or fees. This restaurant accepts the Disney Dining Plan when it is active. The Disney Parks Dining team says there is “one yellow food” on every menu at Walt Disney World. Of course, this means food that typical picky eaters will typically launch themselves toward.
Sofitel Barcelona Skipper
Don’t go in expecting this to be a dry (humor) docked version of Jungle Cruise–let it be a pleasant surprise if it happens. This secret society of fictional and real-life explorers that began at Tokyo DisneySea two decades ago and has grown into a shared universe of characters and story points that has spread all over the world. The next stop is a Society of Explorers and Adventurers show that’s coming to Disney+ as the first project for the Magic Kingdom Universe. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of Skipper Canteen, but the Mess Hall feels a bit like a ‘prop shop’ that’s been piled high with Easter Eggs.

Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen Guide - Inside the Magic
Like the Jungle Cruise itself, this is highly variable–much more so than the ride. We’ve had some servers who have perfected the deadpan delivery, with performances on par with 50’s Prime Time Cafe that kept in character the entire meal. No one ever accused Magic Kingdom of being Walt Disney World’s culinary epicenter.
Fitting for those with peanut or fish allergies, this dessert has a Pineapple-Basil Compote that’s extra islandy. The Shiriki Noodle Salad, S.E.A. SHU MAI, the iconic Whole Fried Fish, Sankuru Sadie’s Seafood Stew, Trader Lamb Chops, and the “A Lot at Steak” Salad were removed at that point. The Sankuru Seafood Stew was a personal favorite of this reporter, and we hope it comes back soon!
Allergy Menu
The design of the other two rooms feels more purposeful, and their atmosphere is more elegant. That’s most pronounced in the S.E.A. room, but it’s also true in the Jungle Room. Fans will recognize hat tips to other offerings in Adventureland, including the Enchanted Tiki Room, Pirates of the Caribbean, Orange Bird at Sunshine Tree Terrace, Indiana Jones Adventure, and more. There are also more obscure references, including things like the extinct Tokyo DisneySea show, Legend of Mythica and other attractions in Hong Kong Disneyland and the Japan parks. The Crew Mess Hall features wall hangings of photos, documents, masks, native musical instruments, and expedition mementos gathered by the Jungle Cruise skippers on their expeditions. There are some fun visual gags and nods to other attractions and Imagineers, plus entire (amusing) documents to read.
The dish came with tiny balls of cheesy bread with cream cheese and chimichurri sauces on the side. This was my first time having falafel at Disney World, and I thought it was very good and worth the price. I found the restaurant's menu to be fairly extensive, so I was glad our server, Rena, was available to answer any questions I had.
This one wasn’t spicy as it had more of a sweet barbecue-like sauce. The serving was four BIG pieces of pork, a big ol’ pile of jasmine rice, and those seasonal veggies. We had bok choy which was lightly seasoned and a nice addition to the dish. A CGI male skipper representation of Dr. Wayne Szalinski from Honey, I Shrunk the Kids (1989) appeared in this attraction as skipper, dressed in a blue shirt and pith helmet. Using a time-travel, "Gizmo", he brought guests to the time of the dinosaurs only to lose his device along the rivers, and race to get it back before the guests died in the KT Extinction event.
We are one of the world’s largest theme park guide sites, hosting detailed guides to more than 80 theme parks around the globe. Theme Park Tourist is one of the web’s leading sources of essential information and entertaining articles about theme parks in Orlando and beyond. Created in 2005, what started as a tiny central Florida-based website and short weekly podcast that allowed our audience to visit Walt Disney World virtually has grown into the publishing company it is today. We focus on bringing you all things fun so you can plan your theme park vacation, enjoy Disney at home, and more. For a limey taste of the river, the Panna-Connie’s Congo Lime Delight is a great choice to end your adventure. For those looking for a light finish to their meal, the Coconut Bar with Vanilla Chiffon Cake and Lime-White Chocolate Ganache is a tropical sensation.
We would also note that the pork might be the safest bet on the menu for picky eaters. The sauce is sweet and nothing is overly seasoned so it may be better for pickier palettes. Be warned, this salad comes right from the depths of the jungle!
Much of it was published online, including a 1938 issue of The Daily Gnus about Alberta Falls and the World-Famous Jungle Cruise. The Jungle Cruise Room is highlighted by wood carvings of scenes made from wood on the Jungle Cruise docks, stained glass chandeliers in the form of the Enchanted Tiki Room’s birds, and other animal artifacts. Purely subjective, but this dining room is excellent–far superior to the Crew Mess Hall.

Syrah is a versatile on request restaurant, ideal for holding conventions and private business or family events. Barcelona, the city of Gaudí, is one of Spain's most modern cities for good reason, hosting major technology exhibitions like Mobile World. Not everything is focused on the future, though; history and culture are essential to understand its people. Hotel Sofitel is opposite Barceloneta, its best-known beach. A few minutes' walk is the Gothic Quarter, a major tourist attractions of Barcelona.
